After returning to the US market back in 2011, the Fiat 500 lasted just nine model years before the company pulled the plug, opting to only sell the larger 500X, 500L, and the Miata-based 124 Spider. In those nine years on sale, Fiat only managed to sell around 195,000 copies of the 500. To put that in perspective, Jeep sold more Wranglers in 2019 alone. The 500's best sales year came in 2012 when it sold 43,772 copies but by 2019, that number crashed to just 3,267.
American buyers clearly weren't that enamored with the idea of a sub-compact Italian hatchback but what if that hatchback were sold by an American automaker and packed a bit more horsepower? The all-new electric Fiat 500 will not be sold in the US but rendering artist Kleber Silva has reimagined what the car would look like as a Dodge.
