Brixton Motorcycles Reveals Crossfire 500 Specifications, Pricing Information

Brixton isn’t a legacy motorcycle manufacturer. Founded in 2015 in Austria, these guys are all about that throwback style we love. Think about scramblers, café racers, and standards with small-ish engines.

Revealed at the 2019 edition of the Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo Motociclo e Accessori as a concept, the Crossfire is the company’s first venture into 500-cc territory. Designed “to bring pulse-racing agility to streets everywhere,” the newcomer utilizes a two-cylinder inline motor that’s much obliged to churn out 48 PS or 47 horsepower (35 kW) at 8,500 revolutions.

The parallel-twin motor is designed to appeal to riders who boast the A2 license, often regarded as the most efficient way of progressing to an unrestricted license. With an unladen mass of 190 kilograms (419 pounds) and a fuel consumption of 4.0 liters per 100 kilometers (58.8 mpg), the Crossfire 500 is exactly what you’d expect from this motorcycle segment.

And it’s affordable too!

When it comes to the base model, 6,249 euros or 7,110 dollars is what you’ll need to pony up. The 500 X is 300 euros more expensive, and so far, only two paint schemes are offered in the guise of black or silver. The question is, what do you get for your hard-earned cash in either trim level’s case?

Not much but more than enough would be the answer to that, and the list starts with LEDs for the daylight and indicators. Anti-lock braking, electronic fuel injection, Pirelli rubber shoes, a stainless-steel exhaust, and a digital speedo. As expected from a 500-cc bike, the X differs in terms of design by means of a posh saddle, plate hanger, and the handlebars.

“Quality means everything” to Brixton Motorcycles, coming from the belief that “everyone deserves an epic bike.” All told, the Crossfire should help the up-and-coming manufacturer steal some sales from the big hitters in this segment. And speaking of which, the ever-popular compact streetfighter known as the Honda CB500F retails at 6,399 euros in Germany.
