The battery fitted inside the Traveller is not impressive in size. At 50 kWh capacity, it can power the van along for as much (or as little) as 143 miles (230 km), while the electric motor ensures speeds that do not exceed 80 mph (130 kph). The 0-100 kph (62 mph) acceleration time, if that’s a thing for this type of vehicle, has been rated at 13.1 seconds.
The battery can be recharged to 80 percent in as little as 30 minutes when using 100 kW chargers, but if only a standard domestic socket is around, that charging time jumps to no less than 31 hours. A 7.4 kW charger should ensure the same amount of energy in about seven and a half hours.
The electric motor can be configured to run in three driving modes: Eco, Normal, and Power.
Just like its ICE-powered counterpart, the Peugeot e-Traveller van is offered in two body lengths and with a variety of seating configurations to suit a diverse set of needs. Up to eight people in all can be moved at the same time in this van, along with 1,500 liters of luggage.
Peugeot says its new electric van should be available in Europe in the second half of the year. Pricing was not announced.
