Eagle even found a way to free up a lot more legroom than in the original by redesigning the floor pan and pedal mountings. Together with the well-trimmed leather cabin and Ohlins adjustable dampers, the sports car is now a comfortable long-distance cruiser. It's challenging to find a modern car without air conditioning, but things were a lot different in 1963; thankfully, the Lightweight GT has this feature fitted.
It may not be able to keep up with a new Jaguar F-Type, but with its gorgeous lines, obsessive attention to detail, and modifications that make it better to drive - without losing any of the original's considerable charm - the Eagle Lightweight GT is a masterpiece.
