Tesla Cybertruck 6x6 Mars Rover Will Conquer Planets, Plant Potatoes

Everyone thought he was crazy or too ambitious, yet it's pretty clear the Elon Musk has just disrupted the deep-rooted aerospace industry. But his plan is to eventually colonize Mars.

SpaceX had three catastrophic failures in a row. But after the 4th run was successful, NASA decided to take a risk on Musk and awarded his company a billion-dollar contract.

His unique rocket is capable of taking off and landing back down with pinpoint accuracy, to be re-used again. It sounds crazy for an independent company to one-up the Space Shuttle, but after proving itself in the field, the rocket captured the imagination of millions.

Can Musk dream even bigger? Yes. Saturday, in September 2019, he stood in front of a prototype for the rocket he believes will take people to Mars. It was fully covered in stainless steel and looked like something from a vintage sci-fi movie.

The Starship is supposed to be 380 feet tall, or about five times taller than the first SpaceX rocket. But living on Mars would be pretty boring, not to mention difficult, if we didn't have any cars.

Naturally, you can't take an internal combustion engine on a planet without oxygen, so the Mars rover would have to be electric. This rendering by Charlie Automotive tries to image what the Tesla Cybertruck would look like on an alien planet.

It's been converted from a 4x4 to a 6x6 and lifted on some of those crazy airless tires that allow vehicles to pivot in place. All kinds of crazy communication equipment is strapped to the roof, along with some survival gear.

Considering even the earthly Cyberpunk is supposed to be bulletproof to small arms fire, this is the kind of vehicle we'd like to be in on Mars. You know... in case the locals have developed guns and want us off their land.

And what do you do with the pickup bed on a Mars rover? Carry your own guns and plant some potatoes, of course.
