In his modern 6 Series concept, Butin retains the long front overhang which is slanted forward just like on the original 6. The headlights, however, are more in line with modern design, with a sleeker cluster replacing the double rounded items of the original.
For the kidney grille, Butin smartly chose to keep it reasonably sized and stretched horizontally, not vertically. The Hofmeister C-pillar kink remains, but it's more pointy and less rounded than on the original. A more steeply raked windshield and narrower glasshouse have been used.
