Dom's Charger Meets Han's Orange 2020 Toyota Supra in Widebody World

Fast & Furious 9 was supposed to come out today, but due to the pandemic, the release got pushed into 2021. A little thing like that isn't going to stop us from celebrating two of the cars we expect to see in the movie.

In terms of vehicles, this movie is kind of going full circle. One of the icons from the 2001 release that started it all was a bright orange 1993 Toyota Supra with Bomex body kit, APR wing, and graphics from golden graphics.

Brian O'Conner drove it in the original movie, but he can't come back for obvious reasons. However, we know that a modern 2020 Toyota Supra will bring back the orange paint finish.

All signs point towards Han being the man behind the wheel. We met good-guy-Han (played by Sung Kang) back in Tokyo Drift. He lends the American newbie Sean one of his cars only to have it wrecked moments later.

The master of drifting also has some epic sideways shots in Tokyo only to get T-boned and die a fiery death behind the wheel of his orange Veilside Mazda. (spoiler alert: Shaw tried to kill him, but Han isn't dead)

The only problem we have with Han's new Supra is that it's a little anemic. That's why we propose this rendering by adry53customs. It puts on Pandem/Rocket Bunny look, updates the graphics, and also adds a layer of digital luster.

Next to it, we have Dom's famous Charger, mean and black, packed with all kinds of engine muscle. These photos take you all the way back to 2021 and that famous jump across the railroad track.

However, it's technically not the correct setup for Fast 9. You see, Dom's new monster muscle car will apparently have a flared out rear end, longtail design, and a mid-mounted engine. You heard that right, a Charger supercar.

According to our current info, Fast 9 is supposed to come to the U.S. on April 2. Vin Diesel made this announcement on social media: "We feel all the love and the anticipation you have for the next chapter in our saga. That’s why it’s especially tough to let you know that we have to move the release date of the film. It’s become clear that it won’t be possible for all of our fans around the world to see the film this May.”
