It definitely looks sportier than the new Kia Sorento pictured below, which is an attractive but more conservative crossover. Hyundai says that the grille's geometric pattern "adds a stereoscopic aspect", which ultimately means that the perception of depth is enhanced. Interestingly, the grille's detailing looks pretty similar to the Sorentos, even though the overall shape is different.
The Santa Fe's rear aspect wasn't teased, but previous spy shots showed taillights that don't appear too different from those on the current model. Along with a presumed 2.5-liter turbo-four that should produce around 290 horsepower, the Santa Fe will be available with both hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains. The Sorento has a 1.6-liter turbo four-pot mated to an electric motor, and its this powertrain that should power the electrified Santa Fe, too.
