The more modern option is a 5.0-liter (302 cubic-inch) Generation 3 Coyote crate engine producing 490 hp. For more of a classic flavor, Classic Recreations will also offer a 363 cubic-inch Ford Performance Boss crate engine with 507 hp. This engine sounds intriguing, though having a 362 cubic-inch engine in a car that was named for its 302 cubic-inch engine seems a bit disingenuous. It's not called the Boss 362, after all.
Anyway, no matter which engine you choose, the recreation Mustang Boss 302 sends its power through a Tremec manual transmission paired to a nine-inch rear differential with Posi-Traction. Performance is enhanced via Holley fuel Injection, a Vaporworx fuel pump, and a BeCool aluminum crossflow radiator while sound from the two V8s can be heard through a MagnaFlow performance exhaust with dual mufflers
