As good as this new Z71 trim of the wildly popular Suburban appears to be, some have asked for a diesel variant. Loads of torque, better fuel economy, and the famous power of a Duramax engine would be a wonderful addition to the range, but we recently learned that this won't happen, at least not yet. Does this matter? Not really. The Suburban and Tahoe, whether in regular or in Z71 spec, will almost certainly sell like hotcakes. As rivals like the GMC Yukon, Cadillac Escalade, and Ford Expedition all scramble to be the best, the Z71's attractive new look could swing the tide in favor of Chevy.
