Subaru's Record Sales Streak Ends, But Forester Is Still Flying

The COVID-19 pandemic has had an inevitable impact on new car sales, but not every automaker has had only bad news to report. In May, for instance, Subaru sold 17,859 Foresters in the US, which was the model's best May ever. For the month of June, the Forester performed even better, racking up 19,490 units, which is the model's best June ever.

However, despite this positive news, Subaru still recorded an overall decrease of 12 percent in June relative to June 2019, with 53,911 vehicles sold. And, following eleven consecutive years of sales records, the automaker's year-to-date sales of 267,110 represent a 21 percent drop compared to 2019.
